The Palisade’s Salt Gate

In the late Qianlong era, a frontier wall—the Willow Palisade—cuts the Zhao clan in two. To survive, the separated families dig a tunnel to smuggle salt, only to discover that the very gaps in the salt laws were deliberately left as tollgates for corrupt officials. When a body is found in the tunnel, a disgraced clerk must unravel a conspiracy where the line between law and crime is drawn in silver.
