Novel Summary
In the Strait of Serpents, a concrete wall splits two fishing villages—one under the Northern Federation, the other under the Southern Dominion. The Kadal and the Vairavan families, once bound by marriage, now live on opposite sides of the wall. To survive, they dig a secret tunnel beneath the barrier, smuggling not just fish but forbidden medicines, diesel, and human souls. When a fisherman is caught on the wrong side and sentenced under a vague "Maritime Transgression Act," the families discover that the law's ambiguity was deliberately written to let border guards extract bribes, silence dissent, and control the black market. The tunnel becomes a lifeline—and a trap.
