The Fifth Shadow

Private investigator Caleb Ashford is hired to prove that The Harbor Stone tavern over-served a man who later died in a single-car crash. While trailing the tavern's owner through the decaying coastal city of Bridgemere, Caleb discovers he himself is being shadowed by an unknown figure. When the two watchers finally meet, their confrontation strips away the illusion of a perfect crime, exposing a tragedy woven from nothing more than hesitation, misinterpretation, and the slow cruelty of ordinary luck.
