Dead Lock Shadow

In the sprawling suburbs of Ashwick, North Montclair, private investigator Raymond Chase is hired to look into the collapse of a Sterling Cabinetry wall unit that left Leo Ashford with a traumatic brain injury. While shadowing Dennis Geller, the former quality inspector who may have buried a design flaw, Chase begins to sense a phantom presence tracing his own steps. As the hunter becomes the hunted in a city of smeared glass and cheap wood veneer, two trailing figures finally converge in a tense deadlock—only to uncover that the supposed “perfect crime” was never a crime at all, just an unscripted accident born entirely from collective bad luck and human dullness.
